Organized in 1960, the Gilbert Historical Museum moved to the old elementary which was deemed a historical building in 1980. The museum is only open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $1.50 for children ages 5 to 12, and kids under age five are free.
The Desert Mountain Golf Club has six Jack Nicklaus courses, one of which is the Renegade Course. This course features 7,443 yards of challenging golf with two flags on each hole. It is an 18-hole, par 72 course with several tees at each hole.
